12:30 am – Taking stock of the foes below, and with a better understanding of each others’ strengths, the party goes deeper into the mine. As Crunch uses his bat form to pass over the 4 goblins, 1 bugbear, and a hobgoblin, Fanderbell is able to pass by to the other side without detection. With the team surrounding the goblinoids, they catch them off guard. Davian and Nonum exchange blow after blow with the bugbear, while Fanderbell and Crunch confuse and dance around the hobgoblin, until all of them are dispatched.
1:00 am – As the party moves to leave the depths of the mine, Crunch retakes the form of the bat and explores further down a side tunnel in the mine. He finds a torch lighting three three tunnels, each with a marking. Exploring each briefly, Crunch chooses to continue down the center path. 4 hours into his flight down the 6 foot wide he finds the a cavern and takes a long rest, waking around 1pm.
1:00 am – Leaving Crunch behind, the party returns to find the Watch ranger and goblin still tied up. Davian kills the goblin, and prepares the watch ranger for transport. Ignoring his pleas for release in exchange for reward and a quicker trip to Port O’nor, the group heads back the way they came, traveling 4 hours back to the road they were initial traveling on, and makes camp for the night. The long rest goes without incident and they wake up at 1pm. Convincing the ranger that they will kill him if he doesn’t talk, he tells the party that he’s working with the goblins to bolster their ranks and lure more adventurers to Port O’nor. After they get the information, they kill the Watch ranger, destroy the body and his belongings. Fanderbell holds onto his signet ring without telling the rest of the group.
8:00 pm – after traveling the remaining 6 hours Davian, Fanderbell, and Nonum approach the North Gate. Davian and Nonum get in line at the Earmasser and turn in their ears for gold. When Nonum dumps 14 ears on the table the crowd gathers and begins to talk. The Head of the Watch is called and he questions Nonum regarding where and how he came across so many Goblins. The Head of Watch gives Nonum the standard “Welcome to Port O’nor, there’s plenty of work, but keep your hands clean.” and then leaves. All three enter the city and observe the new prosperity in the city.
