The group sets up their tents in the adventurer encampment and rest for the night. Just before sunrise, around 6am the group rises one after another. Minty does some hunting and grabs a couple rabbits to cook them. Crunch walks back to the area near the tower to retrieve his shirt, and on the way back to camp the small rider he had been observing the day before rode past, but he didn’t get a good look at her.
After breakfast the four men head back into town through the north gate. On their way in they see a group of watch rangers, led by Auxander Arrowfly and Dukander Arrowfly who they had previously met (session 1) making their way to leave through the north gate. The brothers recognize Minty and Nonum and engage them in conversation. Aux mentions that they are heading out of town to look for Unknown Ranger(session 2), who was missing. Xu Singblade entered the area and interrupted the conversation to hurry the search party out on their duties. To which Aux and Duke make to leave.
Seeing that Minty and Nonum have some report with respected members of the watch, Xu offers them a one-off gig and introduces them to Deelorion and Metonymy who have been in town for over a week, working odd jobs and excelling in their performance. Fanderbell offers to help but is ignored, as is Crunch. As Xu’s right-hand, Joel (no picture) begins leading them to the post, a gnome woman appears from the doorway Crunch had been watching previously, and approaches Crunch and Fanderbell. After Fanderbell Fails at Flirting, the woman urges the two to stay close to their companions.
The group scopes out the post, makes introductions, and then parts ways until their shift begins that evening.
A couple hours after sundown the group reconvenes back at the post. 3 hours into the watch Fanderbell gets bored, Nonum gets sleepy, Metonymy readies some spells and Deelorion gets fixated on something in her bag. But Minty and Crunch spot the guards getting a signal from down the street. A few moments later the guards open a hidden door in the wall and leave their post. A small halfling comes down the road from the direction of the signal and slips in through the door. Minty relays the information to his companions and the group of 6 head in to investigate. Deelorion fails to pick the lock, and Fanderbell seems to fail as well, but the door opens and he takes the credit.
Once inside the door the find a set of stairs leading up to a door in the side of a warehouse. Upon reaching the door, Metonymy deciphers that there is some magic being used on the door. Tempting fate, they open the door and barge in, setting off an Alarm spell. Across the dock and on the other side of the warehouse they spot a couple of pirates loading barrels onto a wagon. The alarm spell allows the pirates a few moments to get into better positions before the party can act. meanwhile, Crunch (in owl form) comes in through a roof window and lands in the rafters, transforming back into his half-orc form.
The party fights well, taking very little damage from the pirates that engage them. A sleep spell puts the horse to sleep which hinders the pirates’ escape. A lot of damage is done to the first two pirates they saw, and a third gets moonbeamed like crazy. The horse takes a few rounds but rallies to its feet and gallops out the open door with two barrles in his cart. And before they can finish off the leader, she makes a great running jump into the cart as it drives off.
